Introduction

It is the holiday season, and like Clara in the Nutcracker, you are in the middle of a strange dream…

You wake up and find yourself in a completely different family, yet they all seem to know who you are. There is a celebration going on, and you wonder what it is all about, because you have never seen anything like this before in your own family.

What are you supposed to do on this special day? What are you supposed to wear? What can you be expected to eat?

Task

Your task is to make an informational poster about the holiday you have been thrown into (the holiday of your choice J )

Process

1) Look at the pictures below and the four holidays presented. You must select a holiday you know nothing or very little about.

2) You will make notes on the following categories

    • What date is your holiday held on?
    • Do you dress any differently on this holiday?
    • Are there any special foods that are made?
    • Any special games?
    • Any special music or songs?
    • Are there any other special activities during this holiday?

3) Be sure to organize your information along the categories just mentioned.

4) After you have gathered information, you can begin your poster.

5) You will need to tell the class about your holiday

Conclusion

November and December mark one of the busiest, most important holiday seasons of the year around the world. November and December are full of revelry, celebration, and solemn religious occasions. And you were there to celebrate one of them!
