Introduction

  • As a fifth grade student, you realize that not many people you know share your same love for music. You especially realize that not many people your age have ever listened to opera music, which is your favorite! Some of your friends tell you that opera music is just “yelling” and it’s boring. You are bound and determined to prove them wrong!

 

Task

  • You are going to make it your personal mission to put together all of your favorite songs and arias in an attempt to convince your uncultured friends that there is more to life than hip-hop and punk music! In addition, research some of your favorite opera singers in order to provide your friends with more information about these amazing singers!

Process

·      Explore the works of various opera singers and compile a diverse list of music your friends absolutely must listen to! Find information about each artist you present.

Evaluation

·      Students will be graded based upon the quality of the research information they find about each artist. Students will also be graded based upon the number of different types of opera music they compile.

·      You will be able to share your appreciation of opera music with the rest of the world now that you have a deeper understanding of who opera singers are and what impact they have made on your life and the rest of the world!
