Introduction

You are going to become a real estate broker of the stars. But before you can begin selling everything under the sun (and above) you'll need to have some background on what you're trying to sell to your customers.

Task

Use the internet, online encyclopedias and other reference materials to research the constellation of your choice. Be sure to be thorough in your research and find all the necessary information to compose a sales brochure that will sell your constellation to any interested buyer.

What is your Property Like… a sketch of the constellation including the names, positions and colors of bright stars. Are there deep sky objects like nebulas, galaxies, etc. in your constellation?

Location! Location! Location! The three things to remember about selling any property. Where is the constellation found in the sky? What other constellations does it border? Describe whether the constellation is easily seen or very dim.

When is the BEST time to see the property? When is the constellation visible in the sky? What time of year do you see this constellation?

History of your Property… What is the classical Greek mythology of the constellation and ONE other culture's story of the constellation?

You will be evaluated based on the following… Do I want to purchase property in your constellation? Have you adequately explained the above information to me? How well have you diagramed the constellation?

Conclusion

Now that you've completed this assignment, what would you have included in addition to what you needed to? How would you have changed the assignment? What would improve the project? Turn in these types of ideas to your teacher and see if you can wangle some bonus points, but don't tell them I suggested it!
