A Skateboarder’s Fantasy

IntroductionTaskProcessEvaluation - Conclusion

Introduction

  • The Skateboarding community is coming together for their 25th anniversary of the very first ollie. An ollie is when the skateboarder jumps up with the board still under his feet. When this trick was invented it revolutionized the skateboarding world. Now skaters that are recognized by the mainstream society such as Tony Hawk, Bam Margera, Rodney Mullen, and many others are able to further revolutionize the extremes of skateboarding.

Task

  • Due to this being the 25th anniversary, and the X-Games coming very soon, all the pros that are competing this year are leaving it in your hands to develop the ramps and parks that will be used in this year’s competition. The pros not only need pictures, but they also need the cost of the ramps (because they are going to have to pay for these ramps), the design, or blueprint, of the ramps (so the engineers can build them), and they want a page describing how you came up with the idea for the ramp and why it would be such a good addition to this year’s X-Games.

Process

·    There are several steps in the completion of this project.

1.     Make sure are of those involved with the X-Games is pleased with your

decision: the pros, the sponsors, the fans, and anyone else. If any of you

know, or if you yourself participate in X-Games like sports, then you will

what the best designs for various ramps will be. In order to learn more

about the ramps that are out there click here and here.

2.     After you have decided on a plan for a ramp, you will also need the

approximate cost of the ramp. You will be able to find this website useful

for figuring out about how much your ramp will cost.

3.     In having a plan, that means you need to have a rough draft of what your

ramps will look like. These pros want ramps they can actually build and use.

If you are building big ramps that are really expensive, these people are not

going to want to do business with you. When you finish your rough draft, you

need to give it to your teacher, so he/she can send it off to those who are

evaluating your ramps.

4.     When your rough draft is returned to you, signed by one of the pros on tour,

you are to draw it in as much detail as possible (on paper that will be

provided for you).

5.     After you have a detailed picture drawn, you are to attach a receipt onto the

ramp for about how much it cost to make. The accountants (moneykeppers)

have a pretty good idea about how much things cost, and if they think your

numbers are too high, you might not get that money back.

The cost of the ramps is a really a great estimate, a lot of research was done.

Conclusion

·    In this activity you designed ramps that the pros at the X-Games will use. You also figured the cost for the engineers at the X-Games to actually make your ramps come to life. Be watching the coming X-Games for your ramps on T.V.
