Introduction

  • Uncovering the past is what history is all about. Finding out what really happened, or what was it really like is going to be our quest. Like in many other countries, the history of Mexico tends to be romanticized. We read, and learn the bias historical views. We learn about the great things that happened, and overlook the terrible things that happened because of the unpleasant realities that occurred. In this quest we are going to try to uncover the realities of the past in Mexico. What really happened or what was it really like is what we are going to try to find out.

Task

  • We are going to be looking at primary resources and others resources related to the Mexican Revolution. We will compare and make our own conclusions and interpretations. This activity will require some critical thinking skills, and application.

Process

·   Your job is to go into these wed sites and research the History of Mexico. You will to take notes about the material you have read. Then you will read the text that I will provide for you in class. You will be required to take notes on this readings also.

Evaluation

·   The students will be evaluated on their thoughtful research papers that they will be submitting to me. The more information and interpretations that they make from the visuals, and text, the better their grade will be. Again the purpose of this assignment is to do research and analyze the information that they found and looked at.

Conclusion

·   This will be an interesting assignment. The students will be working on their own most of the time. We will have a class discussion after the assignment is completed.
