Introduction

  • Cows, horses, pigs, oh my! Moo, neigh, oink, oh my! Where are we heading? To the farm, of course. Put on some overalls and get a straw hat and be a farmer for a day. Choose a farm animal and learn all about it.

 

Task

  • Step into the shoes of a farmer and select the right animals that will make your farm successful. Choose a farm animal, read all about it. You will then create a colorful poster about farm animals, to be shared with your farmer buddies.

 

Process

·      Browse the selection of farm animals

·      Visit the websites to gather information about farm animals

·      Select the animals that you want on your farm

·      Draw a pictures of your farm animals

·      Write down facts about your farm animals

·      Use the information that you gathered and the picture you drew to create an interesting, colorful poster about farm animals

·      Share the poster with your farmer buddies

Evaluation

 

 

I used web sites and gathered information about animal

One resource was looked at and one animal was chosen and drawn

Two resources were chosen and two animals were chosen and drawn 

All resources were used and three or more animals were chosen and drawn

My drawing was colorful and interesting

Animal(s) was drawn with pencil and not labeled.  

Animal(s) was drawn and colored with crayons with some labels. 

Animal(s) were colored with crayons and markers, labeled and a nice background was included. 

I presented my farm animal poster with my buddies

I fidgeted and did not address all the information on the poster. 

I talked quite a bit, but skipped around the information, confusing my farm buddies. 

I spoke clearly and provided information about all the animals researched and allowed buddies to ask questions.  

 

 

Conclusion

·      Now that your task has been completed, do you feel like a true farmer? After you have created your farm animal poster you can learn more about animals from your farmer buddies through class presentations.
