LISTPROC:
Listproc is an email list for the class. You are required to subscribe to it and check it frequently for messages. I will post messages for the class, grades, etc. It is useful for informal discussions among class members. Feel free to post any messages. Use my email address for questions you want to ask me. Use the Listproc for messages that are potentially useful or of interest to your classmates. You can use the Listproc to ask about questions in the back of the chapter that you are uncertain about the answer; you can use it to arrange study groups, etc.
To subscribe, send an email message to listproc@csus.edu. Leave the subject line blank, and type the following 2 line message using a standard font: (If you are in section 1, the 9:00 class)
subscribe GEOL10S1-L Firstname Lastname (use your
first name and lastname)
end
(If you are in section 2, the 10:30 class):
subscribe GEOL10S2-L Firstname Lastname (use
your first name and lastname)
end
You must type out the information exactly or you won't be listed. Note the "GEOL" has a lettrer O and "10S" has a zero.
The CSUS Computer Center sends the following
Note: The major problem students have when subscribing to listproc is
that
their email program is configured to send messages in HTML format. Listproc
will only process requests sent in 'Plain text' or 'Rich Text' format.
To change the format check the preference or options settings in the mail
program. Find the option for "mail sending format". The choices are
probably 'plain text' 'rich text' or 'HTML'. Be sure 'plain text' or 'rich text'
is selected.
Under the 'plain text' or 'rich text' selection set encoded text equal to
'none'.
If they receive errors they do not understand, they n
eed to forward a copy
of the error message along with a description of what they were attempting
to do, to the saclink helpdesk (saclink@csus.edu).
Additional information for list owners and subscribers can be found at

If you continue to have problems subscribing, e-mail me a copy of your request message by putting my address in after CC:.
