COURSE REQUIREMENTS:
EXAMINATIONS AND BOOK
REVIEW: There will be four exams, including the final
exam. The book review
will be of a book chosen for its relevance to finance or
financial applications in your field of interest and which
is appropriate to a University level exploration of business
concepts and issues. Please follow the book review format
exactly.
GRADING CRITERIA: Total
possible points = 450. Exams are 100 points each (400
total). The book review is worth 50 points. Grades are a
function of the class average. There are no make-up
examinations. There will be no makeup examinations without
previously consulting with me. A makeup examination requires
significant issues in order to be granted. A missed
examination will be replaced by the average of the other
three examinations OR the class average of the missed
examination; whichever is lower.

"A"
paper.
ATTENDANCE: Role is taken at
class meetings. Attendance is required of all students.
Excess absence will result in a diminution of the term
grade: i.e. FOUR absences will reduce a grade by one full
grade. (Four absences for a twice a seek class schedule, two
absences for a once a week class schedule and six absences
for a class scheduled three times a week). For example, a
term grade "B" becomes a term grade of "C" with the presence
of the aforementioned number of absences.
HOMEWORK: The successful study of
Finance requires a good deal of out of class effort.
Homework will be assigned. Failure to complete assigned
homework assignments will result in a diminution of the term
grade in accord with the following schedule: Less than 90%
of the assignments completed reduces a term grade by .5
point (e.g. a "B" becomes a "B-"). There is an additional
reduction in term grade at the rate of one half (.5) grade
for each 10 percent of the homework not turned in ON
TIME. (For example a term grade of "C" with only 80% of
the homework assignments received on time will result in a
final grade of "D".)
