Hey! Welcome to the loony bin.
My name is John, and I'm a native Sacramentan (sounds like an AA meeting--
"Hi, John. . .") I enjoy table tennis, whitewater rafting, and electro-shock
therapy--basically, anything that involves a good a paddle.
I'm a coffee drinker by nature, and I've been lucky enough to find the best
coffee in the world: Community Coffee, in Lafayette Louisiana--keeps you up
somethin' fierce! Check out their web-site below.
I like music--the good kind, not the bad kind: Tom Petty (saw him at the
Fillmore--whoa), Tom Waits, Counting Crows, Menudo, Latin Playboys, Cake,
Mother Hips, Leon Redbone, Neil Young, The Seventy-Sevens, Simon Feck (check
out their web-site), Kate Bush, RUSH (from my high school days), David
Wilcox, Wilco, Son Volt, and some other stuff that I can't remember. Plus,
as you can see from my photo, I'm a natural born guitar player (from the
womb, man).
Here's a laundry list of other pertinent stuff (to coin a Prof. Hennely
phrase): Star Trek is cool dammit--even if the whole cosmos speaks English!
Gnocci is the best food on Earth. Men can cook. Friends are better
conversationalists than enemies. Whitman's cool, Twain's cooler. John Donne
was the only Christian poet who could talk about sex and not blush. Question
authority, but at least be courteous about it. Hummus is rad. Roll the TP to
fall towards you. Coke is better than Pepsi. God is.
