1. What do you think the relationship would be between amount of alcohol consumed during pregnancy and intelligence of the child? Explain and interpret.

a) There actually is a strong positive correlation between shoe size and math skill: What does this say about the math skill of people with larger feet vs. people with smaller feet? (i.e. interpret the positive correlation)

 

b) Explain the two reasons discussed in class for why we cannot conclude that shoe size causes math skill in people. Provide an example for each.

3. Put the following correlation coefficients in order from smallest to largest magnitude, and then draw a separate scattergraph representing each of the them: -.6, 0, .9, .3 (make it clear which graph goes with each coefficient).
