Formal Class Presentation Instructions
For this presentation you will give a small lecture to the class on a psychological concept covered in an Introductory Psychology course. Your lecture should incorporate overheads or the blackboard as appropriate, and should be close to but not more than 20 minutes in length. There will be 3 extra minutes after your presentation for questions and comments from other students. Given this time limit, make sure you choose a topic that is appropriate for this length. Do not pick a topic that is normally covered over several days, but also do not pick a small topic that could be easily covered in 5 minutes. Get approval of your topic from me before you begin preparing. Your lecture should be prepared as if you were teaching to an Introductory Psychology class.
Bring to your presentation a blank VHS with your name written on it. Your lectures will be taped, and we will go over your lecture together at a later date outside of class.
When grading I will be assessing things that relate to your teaching such as the clarity of the lecture, presentation style, use of visuals (overhead, blackboard, or powerpoint) organization, preparation, speed of lecture, staying within 20 minute time constraint, etc.
