Convert Canvas grade file to Faculty Center grade file

After exporting a Canvas grades-file, this page can help you create a Faculty Center grades-file.

Starting with the button below, choose the 1st CSV file you had downloaded from Canvas which will then go through a four-step process that will download a 2nd CSV file that can be used with the Faculty Center.


 

Not Done Yet: Please Upload the New CSV to My Sac State / Faculty Center

Click the "Save CSV" button, and download the new CSV file to your computer.

Then login to the My Sac State Faculty Center to upload the new CSV file.

For additional instructions, click the "Next" button in the lower-right corner.

Description of Each Canvas Grade Column:

  • Current Grade: the letter grade visible in the "Total" column of a Canvas course grade book. Choose this columns if best practices were followed to enter zeros for missing work, and unmuted/posted all grade columns.
  • Unposted Current Grade: if zeros were entered for missing work, and calculates muted/hidden columns in total.
  • Final Grade: calculates 0 for any unsubmitted work (but might not match letter grade visible to students)
  • Unposted Final Grade: calculates 0 for any unsubmitted work (but might not match letter grade visible to students), and calculates muted/hidden columns in total.
  • Override Grade: optional if the New Gradebook is used and the Override Grade feature is enabled to type grades for specific students instead of what is listed in the corresponding Canvas Total column / "Unposted Current Grade" column.
