Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (HUFS) is the birthplace of foreign language education in Korea and teaches 45 major languages of Asia, the Middle East, and other major regions of the world. HUFS graduates now play vital roles in international trade and diplomatic affairs. In addition to its focus on the theory and practice of foreign languages, HUFS also encourages students to use the language skills that they have acquired to study the politics, economy, society, and culture of each region of the world.

HUFS is a specialized university with around 15,000 undergraduate students in 74 departments within 17 colleges. HUFS has educational exchange ties with 638 universities in 92 countries worldwide.

  • One semester completed at Sacramento State at the time of application
  • Sophomore, Junior, or Senior standing (30+ units completed)

Housing Options

HUFS offers its students various housing options. Though Global Hall and the International Houses are technically "off" campus, they are directly across the street from the front or rear gate of campus. There is little to no difference in the commute time to various buildings/classrooms around campus. These are:

On-Campus Housing

Off-Campus Housing

  • Global Hall
  • International House A, B, C, D

GlobeeDorm and Global Hall are typical dormitories while International House A-D are apartment units.
