A limited number of graduate programs are accepting applications starting August 1st through September 15. Please visit the Graduate Programs page for a complete list of available graduate programs at Sacramento State with a corresponding deadline and eligibility requirements.

How to Apply

  1. Submit an online graduate application at Cal State Apply

    We strongly recommend that you review the Cal State Apply International Student Guide before applyling.  Please note that a non-refundable application fee of $55 USD will need to be paid before submitting the application online using a credit/debit card or PayPal account.  Checks or money order are not be accepted. 

  2. Official English Proficiency Score Report (Institution Code: 4671)

    TOEFL - Minimum of 80 iBT
    IELTS - Minimum of 7.0 Band Score
    PTE Academic Score: 65

     NOTE: Mail in an unofficial score report along with other required documents.

  3. Official GRE or GMAT Score Report (Institution Code: 4671) only if required by the graduate program 

    NOTE: Mail in an unofficial score report along with other required documents.

  4. Original or certified copies of Postsecondary Academic Credentials with English translations. All academic work must be included.

  5. Financial statement (no older than 6 months) and Sacramento State Financial Affidavit demonstrating source (sponsored, self-funded, etc.), in addition to a minimum amount of $29,300 (USD) to support academic study at Sacramento State. MBA applicants must show a minimum of $34,200.  Both documents are required for an I-20 to be issued.

  6. A copy of the biographic information/photo page in your passport.

  7. Additional Documentation (if required by the department).  Applicants must meet any additional program requirements as specified by the major department.  Please note that the department will not follow up on incomplete applications.
