Information Technology Research Portal from Gartner

IRT now provides all Sac State students, faculty, and staff with access to the most comprehensive research and data on information technology by providing free access to Gartner’s world-renowned research portal. Gartner specializes in using its more than 1,500 analysts and consultants to provide best-in-class research on a wide range of information technology issues. Their research portal delivers in-depth information on key information technology sectors (e.g. computing devices, data analytics, storage products, cloud services) and also offers valuable information for every IT consumer. The campus-wide subscription includes access to resources such as magic quadrants, hype cycles, market clocks, vendor ratings, and research articles.

  • Magic Quadrant is a market research report that provides a qualitative analysis of a market including its direction, maturity, and participants.
  • The Hype Cycle is a branded graphical presentation that depicts the maturity, adoption, and social application of specific technologies.
  • Gartner IT Market Clocks explore the entire lifecycle of technology assets from introduction to replacement and obsolescence.
