Welcome to the official home page of the Sac State Marching Band, the largest and loudest spirit organization on the Sacramento State campus. The band can be found at home football games at Sacramento State each fall, exhibitions at local band reviews, and other community functions.

In Fall 2018 the School of Music announced the appointment of Santiago Sabado as the new director for the Marching Band. He replaced Dr. Clay Redfield, who is switching over to focus on music education. Read Mr. Sabado's bio here.

If you're already a member of the band, be sure visit the Members Page for important information on upcoming stuff. If you are interested in becoming a member for Fall 2019, please fill out our Fall 2019 Sign Up to join our e-mailing list and receive important updates.

The Marching Band rehearses during the fall semester, which begins on August 26, 2019. The Band consists of 3 main sections: the wind block (woodwinds and brass), percussion (battery and front ensemble), and colorguard. Auditions are held each spring for the Colorguard, and placement auditions are typically held for the Battery and Pit at the start of band camp in the fall. There are no auditions for the winds and brass, though part placement auditions may be held. The band meets MWF 3:30-5:50pm; Mondays are typically focused on music rehearsal, while Wednesdays and Fridays are generally spent outside for marching rehearsal.
