New in Fall 2018: The School of Music recently announced the appointment of Santiago Sabado as the new director for the Marching Band. He replaces Dr. Clay Redfield, who is switching over to focus on music education. Read Mr. Sabado's bio here.

The Marching Band rehearses during the fall semester, which begins on August 27, 2018. The Band consists of 3 main sections: the wind block (woodwinds and brass), percussion (battery and front ensemble), and colorguard. Auditions are held each spring for the Colorguard, and placement auditions are typically held for the Battery and Pit at the start of band camp in the fall. There are no auditions for the winds and brass, though part placement auditions may be held. Winds and Colorguard meet: MWF 3:30-5:50pm; Battery and Front Ensemble meet: Mondays 6-8:20, WF 3:30-5:50pm. Mondays are typically focused on music rehearsal, while Wednesdays and Fridays are generally spent outside for marching rehearsal.
