Band Camp

The Marching Band is typically called upon to being giving performances early in the semester. As such, we have rehearsals starting before the regular first day of school. Welcome to Band Camp!

  • August 20-24, 2018 - 5:00-9:00pm at Capistrano Hall

If you need to check out an instrument, you will need to see the instrument technician, Dan Truitt at an EARLIER time: either Friday August 17 or Monday, August 20 between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. He is located in Capistrano Hall Room 133. Lockers can also be acquired in advance from Glenn Disney in Room 121. NOTE: You must have your Music Service Fee ($40) paid prior to getting an instrument and/or locker. Enrolled students will already have this fee posted on their account. Non-enrolled members should see Karen Sorenson in Room 105 to obtain a payment form.

For camp, you need to wear a t-shirt, shorts, and TENNIS SHOES (no cowboy boots, flip flops, high heels, etc.). Bring snacks for yourself (if desired) and water (we recommend reusable water bottles). These rehearsals will be both musical and marching rehearsals, and you need to dress appropriately. The tentative plan is to have marching rehearsal during camp from 5-7pm on Wednesday-Friday; bring sunscreen!

For parking - if you do not have a Sac State fall 2018 permit - you will need to buy a short term parking permit from the machine on the 5th floor of the parking structure. It's $3 for a two hour permit $6 for a full day. Members who are not Sac State Students: you should fill out the Volunteer Form and return it to Capistrano Hall 121 (this can be turned in anytime after May 21), then use the Parking Form to request a courtesy permit for the season. Following the directions on the Parking Form for that one.

If you have any conflicts or problems with band camp, or have questions, please email Professor Sabado. Do your very best to attend as much of camp as possible. This season promises to be a very exciting year!
