Forum focuses on religious tolerance
understanding and universal peace will be the focus of a panel discussion led
by California State University, Sacramento faculty at 2 p.m., Jan. 11, at the
Newman Center, 5900 Newman Court, across from the University’s J Street
Professors Robert Platzner, Maria Jaoudi and Richard Shek of the CSUS humanities
and religious studies department, along with Rosalie Amer of Cosumnes River
College, will offer insight into Judaism, Christianity, Islam and Chinese religions.
Each is scheduled to speak for approximately 20 minutes. Following the presentations
the panel will take questions from the audience.
The forum is sponsored by Soroptomist International of Sacramento, the Ecumenical
Commission for Interreligious Dialogue of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Sacramento,
the Interfaith Service Bureau and Temple B’nai Israel.
The event is free and open to the public, however seating is limited to 200.
