Police Seek Shooting Suspect

Campus police at California State University, Sacramento are asking the public for help in identifying a motorcyclist who fired shots Wednesday evening in a parking lot on campus.

The suspect is described as a heavyset white male, approximately 30 years old, with a blonde mustache. He was wearing a light blue helmet and a vest or flannel shirt over a t-shirt. He rode away on a Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

Police say the man shouted obscenities and then fired shots at a student at about 8 p.m. in a parking lot near Hornet Stadium. The student was not hit, and police recovered a spent cartridge and other evidence at the scene.

The University offers a night shuttle service available to all students, staff and faculty. The service runs Monday through Thursday until 11 p.m.

Anyone with information about Wednesday's incident is asked to contact the 24-hour University Police dispatch desk at (916) 278-6851.
