CSUS Presents The American Play

Suzan-Lori Parks' The American Play will be presented in the California State University, Sacramento Playwrights Theatre from March 9 through March 12, and again from March 16 through 19.

The play revolves around the story of a performer who has left his wife and son to pursue his dream of impersonating Abraham Lincoln, despite the fact that he is African American.

The American Play comments on American history, the art of theatre and issues around black identity.

Curtain time for the play on Thursday through Saturday is at 8 p.m. and at 2 p.m. on Sundays.

Tickets are $10 general, $7 for students and seniors and $6 for groups of 10 or more. Tickets are available through the CSUS Central Ticket Office at (916) 278-4323, or at BASS.
