Sacramento State's Homecoming 2015 was memorable, bringing students and their families, alumni, faculty, staff, and friends to Hornet Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 24, for a special day of celebrating the Capital’s University. From tailgate parties to the Hornet Walk and, of course, the Hornets’ 38-13 romp over Idaho State, it was a day of fun and festivities, friendship and football.

The Homecoming Festival from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday featured booths, live music and entertainment, Kids Zone activities and food trucks. ASI Hometown Heroes collected nonperishable food items at the festival to benefit the ASI Food Pantry. Prizes were awarded to the best student and best alumni-community tailgate.

    Other Homecoming 2015 events included:

    • Student Dance Marathon, 4 to 10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23, Residence Hall Quad: The Student Alumni Association hosted an evening of games, food, entertainment, and, of course, dancing to benefit the Hornet Proud Fund, which supports students in need of emergency financial assistance.
    • Future Hornet Day, 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, Hornet Bookstore Plaza: Prospective Sac State students toured the campus, met with faculty members, and attended information sessions on admissions, housing, financial aid, and more.
