Cinco de Mayo Celebracion, Chicano Art Fest at CSUS

Cinco de Mayo events at California State University, Sacramento will kick off with a weeklong art exhibit in the Multi-Cultural Center, Monday, May 1 through Friday, May 5.

The Chicano Art Festival will feature works by the Royal Chicano Air Force, a group that uses artwork to highlight Chicano history and art forms. The Multi-Cultural Center, located in the breezeway of the University's library, is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. An exhibit reception will be held at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 2.

Celebrations will continue on Thursday, May 4 with entertainment in the University Union Redwood Room. The "Cinco de Mayo Celebracion" will feature "canciones," songs, by Mariachi Sacramento. Dancing will include Aztec by Tonalteol, and folklorico by Raices de mi Tierra.
