CSUS Hosts Women's Day Forum

The California State University, Sacramento Library will co-sponsor the Florin Japanese American Citizens League's 9th Annual Women's Day Forum from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 11 on campus, 6000 J St. in the Japanese American Archival Collection, South Reading Room.

The theme of this year's forum is "Beyond the Picture Brides: Honoring Japanese American Women, A Century of Change."

The forum will feature discussions of Japanese culture and spirituality, law and justice, and martial arts. There will also be osteoporosis screening and prevention information.

A special session will be devoted to a dialogue on the "Children of the Camps," documentary, in which Japanese Americans relay their personal stories about being interned during World War II.

Late registration may still be available at the door or by calling the Library Administration Office at 278-6467 or the Library Department of Special Collections at 278-6144. Registration is $20 for JACL members, $35 for non-members and $14 for students.
