The center for African Peace and Conflict Resolution (CAPCR) was established in 1996 at California State University, Sacramento to provide conflict resolution and reconciliation services for agencies, govenments, organizations, buisnesses communities and groups through trainings, education, research and intervention.

CAPCR is accepting nominations from individuals, organizations, and institutions for its 2019 Peace Awards, marking the 28th anniversary of the awards.  Nominees must have made significant achievements in the area of peace education, peace-building, peace- making, conflict resolution, justice, human rights, and/or health and humanitarian services in/on Africa(ns)/diaspora. Such work could be domestic (in USA), international, diaspora, cross-cultural or global in scope.

Nominees must consent to the nomination and, if selected, be present in person at the award ceremony and presentation in Sacramento on April 27, 2019. 

All nominations MUST be submitted before December 1, 2018.

Join us for the 28th Annual Africa Peace Awards on April 27, 2019. Our distingused signature event is the culminating event to the three day African Diaspora & International Conference. Our annual peace awards is the center's opportunity to recognize outstanding individuals through out the global African diaspora for their contributions to Peace and conflict resolution. This is also the center's primary funraiser which helps to support the Center for African Peace and Conflict Resolution's operation's and programs. 

We are proud to announce, we received our first financial contribution from Yusol Foods to kick- start the Africa Peace Fellows Endowment Fund.
