Most Renaissance Society memberships go from July 1 to June 30 and cost $100 for the year (an optional CSUS parking pass for Fridays and Saturdays is $20 and an optional library card is $10). Spring-only memberships are now available for $60 (parking still $20 and library card $10) .

You have two options for signing up for spring memberships and optional parking permits:

  • Online, with a credit card payment.
  • The paper way, mailing an application and check to the Renaissance Office. NOTE: There are two different forms, for new and renewal (returning) memberships!

ONLINE MEMBERSHIP AND PARKING: please read all the information below before clicking on the link to sign up!

Here is the link for the online renewal (returning) or new membership and parking. If you formerly belonged and are returning, use the link at the top of the page that says Register for a Current Membership.

This link will take you to the system and walk you through the process. You will be able to sign up for a $60 membership plus optional $20 parking pass on a single form with one credit card transaction. You can also pay for a $10 CSUS library card; you can pick it up later at the Library desk, showing ID. The system will be asking for credit card info to make the payment, but will not retain credit card info once the transaction completes. We will be going to great pains to make sure all of your online data is safe and secure.

You will be asked to provide your mailing address, phone number and email address, all important for receiving Renaissance communications. You will also be asked to list an emergency contact. Have this information handy, as well as your credit card. NEW: You will be required to give your car license number (or numbers or you use more than one car) for the parking pass, so have it handy! In addition, you will be asked how you want future Renaissance information (newsletter, catalog, directory) delivered to you: electronically or paper. READ THIS CAREFULLY!!!!

Once you have registered, you will get a confirmation email.

RETURNING MEMBERS: Those who are coming back after an absence. Use the link at the top of the online registration page that says Register for a Current Membership. Have your current membership card handy as you will need your membership number. Add RS before the six-digit number on the card, i.e., RS777777; you also will be able to look your membership number up on that site if you have forgotten it. You will be able to update any of your personal information (address, phone, email, emergency contacts); do this if anything has changed as it is important for getting announcements, etc. Once you have registered, you will get a confirmation email.

TIP: Type in your credit card number all together (no dashes or spaces).

PAPER AND MAIL SYSTEM: Note there are two SEPARATE FORMS for returning and new memberships! The forms cover both membership and the optional parking pass or library card and you only need to write a single check. You are required to list your car license number or numbers if you use more than one vehicle! Read carefully before you fill one out and mail it in!



You can print out the form, fill it out and mail it and your check to the office (address on the form and also above right).

No matter how you sign up, you will then be on the current membership rolls. New members will be mailed a membership card and parking pass. Returnees will get a parking pass; you will keep the same membership number and card as long as you stay in Renaissance. If you give an email address, you will be placed on our email list for announcements and schedule reminders.

In mid-January, the list of fall classes will be available. Those who said when signing up that they want one will get a paper catalog mailed to them; for those who opted out of a printed catalog (and anyone else), all the classes will be on this website. Starting in mid-January, you will be able to sign up for seminars, either online or by calling or emailing the leaders. New members: Plan to attend our Orientation to the Renaissance Society on Friday, Jan. 25, 9 a.m., in Hinde Auditorium in the University Union. You will learn all about how Renaissance works!

Both new and returning members can also attend Rendezvous that day at 12 noon in Ballrooms I and II also in the Union for information about all the spring seminars and programs. You can also sign up for seminars at the Rendezvous.

Classes begin on Feb. 1 and end May 4. Look at the Calendar for details about the semester schedule.

Any Renaissance Society member who turns 90 before July 1 is eligible for Honorary Membership and no longer has to pay membership dues. Contact the office about this.
