Outstanding Contribution to Justice, Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Belonging Staff Award

Sacramento State aspires to be an inclusive and just community where everyone feels a sense of belonging and a responsibility to foster that belonging. University staff play a critical role in ensuring that Sac State is a just, diverse, and equitable and inclusive community where everyone belongs.

The nominee for the Outstanding Contribution to Justice, Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging Award goes above and beyond in their job performance, personal qualities, and/or collaborative efforts to help the University foster and strengthen our commitment to justice, diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging for Sacramento State and the Sacramento Region.

Qualities

The nominee for this award demonstrates extraordinary commitment to justice, diversity, equity, inclusion, and/or belonging in one or more of the following ways:

• Their work is a model and inspiration for others to follow by demonstrating consistently thoughtful and intentional attention to bringing DEIBJ lens in all that they do in all settings and to modeling diplomacy in a manner that centers people.
• They demonstrate a deep understanding of the connection between their work and the work of others throughout the organization.
• They make outstanding contributions to accessibility.
• They exemplify what DEIBJ work looks like in action. Examples may include; making students and colleagues feel valued, heard and accepted, providing service that interrupts bias, leading the charge to change a policy or remove barriers, and/or working in the greater community to improve issue of equity and inclusion.
