1970s

Kenneth A. Macias ’79 (Accountancy) was recognized in the Sacramento Business Journal article “Back in business”. He recently started up his second CPA accounting firm after retiring from his first, very successful firm in 2015. He realized he likes being a practicing CPA and wanted back in. sgreen.png

Manuel Luna ’75 (Business Administration) has joined as owner and executive vice president of Taborda Solutions, an information technology services provider. 

Lester Holt ’79 (Government) received a Poynter Medal for Lifetime Achievement in Journalism.

James A. L’Etoile ’79 (Criminal Justice) recognized by the Sacramento Bee for his success in novel writing, as well as his distinguished 29-year career with the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.  

1980s

David Carle, MS ’81 (Recreation Administration) has published a new book, Putting California on the Map, Von Schmidt’s Lines, a biography of Allexey W. von Schmidt. 

Cheryl Dell ’82 (Communications) has been honored by Inland Press Association with The Casey Award, considered the highest honor bestowed by Inland Press Association. sgreen.png

Norma L. Ortega ’82 (Business Administration) retired in June, after a 37-year career as CFO for The California Department of Transportation. 

Kevin Larscheid ’83 (Business Administration) has been recognized by the Sacramento Business Journal as a 2018 Real Estate Heavy Hitter in the office category for his work as executive vice president for CB Richard Ellis, Inc. 

Michael J. Cook ’84 (English) was recognized as part of the annual Best of the Bar lineup by the Sacramento Business Journal, showcasing top lawyers in the region. 

Mitchell A. Derenzo ’85 (Business Administration) is executive vice president and CFO of American River Bank. Derenzo shares that his favorite part of being a CFO is “being a decision maker in a field that is constantly changing.” sgold.png

Rick Martinez ’86 (Business Administration) has been recognized by the Sacramento Business Journal as a 2018 Real Estate Heavy Hitter for his work as senior vice president for CB Richard Ellis, Inc. 

John M. Crespi ’87 (Economics), an economics professor at Iowa State University, has been named the interim director for the Center of Agricultural and Rural Development (CARD). 

Kevin A. Roberts ’87 (Nursing) was named the new chief executive officer of Metroplex Health System in Central Texas. He assumed leadership in late September. 

June D. Coleman ’89 (Accountancy) was recognized as part of the annual Best of the Bar lineup by the Sacramento Business Journal, showcasing top lawyers in the region. sgold.png

Lisa Stewart-Brown ’89 (Social Work) has been named program manager of mental health services at Banfield Pet Hospital. In this new role, she will develop and implement mental health strategies and initiatives that support Banfield associates. sgold.png

Kelly E. Dankbar ’91 (Government) was recognized as part of the annual Best of the Bar lineup by the Sacramento Business Journal, showcasing top lawyers in the region.  

Jason Gallelli ’91 (Business Administration) has been recognized by the Sacramento Business Journal as a 2018 Real Estate Heavy Hitter for his work as executive vice president for Gallelli Real Estate. He has also been awarded the title of Broker of the Year for his accomplishments. 

Brendan J. Begley ’92 (Government/Journalism) was recognized as part of the annual Best of the Bar lineup by the Sacramento Business Journal, showcasing top lawyers in the region.  

Susan K. Ramsden ’92 (Social Science/Interdisciplinary Studies) has 26 years of experience as CEO of Comprehensive Medical, a pioneering leader in the drug-testing industry, and recorded $1.14 million in revenue last year. Ramsden’s success is a direct link to her company’s diverse portfolio of clients.  

David Herrera ’92 (Business Administration) has been recognized by the Sacramento Business Journal as a 2018 Real Estate Heavy Hitter for his work as senior vice president for Colliers International. 

Ron Thomas ’94 (Business Administration) has been recognized by the Sacramento Business Journal as a 2018 Real Estate Heavy Hitter for his work as executive managing director for Cushman & Wakefield. sgreen.png

Michael ‘Kalei’ Soong ’94 (Finance) has been named vice-president of sales at Nissin Foods, the inventor of instant ramen. He was previously directing sales at King’s Hawaiian and PepsiCo. 

Heath Charamuga ’94 (Business Administration) has been recognized by the Sacramento Business Journal as a 2018 Real Estate Heavy Hitter for his work as senior vice president for Colliers International. sgreen.png

David Mastro ’95 (Business Administration) has been appointed as Senior Vice President of the property management division of LDK Ventures, LLC, a real estate development and investment company. 

Chris Campbell ’95 (Business Administration) has been recognized by the Sacramento Business Journal as a 2018 Real Estate Heavy Hitter for his work as executive vice president for CB Richard Ellis, Inc. 

Jason E. Russo ’96 (Criminal Justice) has been promote to the rank of commander for the Investigative Services Division of the Citrus Heights Police Department. 

Ryan DeAngelis ’99 (Communications) has been recognized by the Sacramento Business Journal as a 2018 Real Estate Heavy Hitter for his work as first vice president for CB Richard Ellis, Inc. 

2000s

Lindsay A. Goulding ’00 (History) was recognized as part of the annual Best of the Bar lineup by the Sacramento Business Journal, showcasing top lawyers in the region.

Jennifer Jackson ’03 (Accounting) has joined CliftonLarsonAllen (CLA) LLP as signing director focusing on employee benefit plans. CLA is delivers wealth advising, outsourcing and tax/audit consulting.  

Nitish V. Sharma ’04 (Accountancy) has been named the new finance director for the city of Davis. He most recently served as the budget manager for West Sacramento. 

Ali Nadimi ’06 (Business Administration) has been recognized by the Sacramento Business Journal as a 2018 Real Estate Heavy Hitter for his work as managing director for Newmark Cornish & Carey.
