Sac State hosts Korean teachers

Twenty English teachers from Chinju University in South Korea are visiting Sacramento this month as part of the International Teacher Training Program, offered by Sacramento State’s College of Continuing Education.

The instructors will participate in a four-week, intensive training program that includes teaching at Golden Empire Elementary School on Jan. 26 and 27. There they will learn and experience interactions and teaching methods in an American classroom.

Golden Empire, located at 9045 Canberra Drive, will also host a reception for the Korean and American teachers from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 27.

This is the program’s second year and more than 150 South Korean educators have come to Sacramento for instruction on teaching English as a Second Language, and for intercultural awareness.
