College students continue to find Sacramento State a popular destination. The total head count for spring 2014 was 27,692 students. As planned, the total exceeded the University’s enrollment target by approximately 3.7 percent.

The student population continues to diversify. The number of students who describe their ethnicity as Hispanic/Latino increased the most. The number of African American and Asian students also increased.

“More students who stopped out in the past are expressing interest in returning to complete their degrees,” says Ed Mills, associate vice president for Student Affairs, Enrollment and Student Support. “And we’re seeing increased applications for admission from both the greater Sacramento region and other areas of the state, such as the Bay Area and Southern California.”
