American Indian Summer Institute

Description:
The American Indian Summer ( AISI ) has been held at the CSUS campus for over two decades. AISI is a no cost, five day, residential program at CSU, Sacramento. Students in grades 10-11 are encouraged to apply. Students will be provided with housing in the CSU Sacramento dorms as well as meals for the length of the program. The students will focus on developing leadership skills, as well as becoming comfortable in a college type setting. Students will experience a community college, a California State University, and a University of California campus. In addition, there will be numerous activities designed to acquaint students with college life, the college application process and careers. While academic preparation is the focus, the students will also participate in white water rafting, ropes course, and lab activities.
Students must apply to be considered for the program. The is a collaborative effort co-sponsored by UC Davis, Los Rios Community Colleges and the Office of the US Fish and Wildlife and CSUS Student Academic Success/Educ. Equity (SASEEP)
