Faculty Senate Subcommittees

  • Academic Program Review Oversight Committee (APROC)
    The Academic Program Review Oversight Committee (APROC), a subcommittee of the Faculty Senate Curriculum Policies Committee (CPC), oversees the formal system, based on peer review, of academic program quality assurance that supports the educational mission and goals of the University.
  • Academic Program Review Pool
    The Academic Program Review Pool is an annual pool of faculty members willing to be recommended by the Faculty Senate to Academic Affairs for potential service as program review team members.
  • Academic Standards Subcommittee  The Academic Standards Subcommittee, a subcommittee of the Academic Policies Committee (APC), recommends policy on academic standards and makes decisions on petitions from students seeking an exception to established academic standards.
  • Council on Preparation of School Personnel (CPSP)
    The Council on Preparation of School Personnel, a subcommittee of the Curriculum Policies Committee (CPC), is responsible for identifying issues and, recommending policies and programs pertaining to the Subject Matter, Blended Programs, and Professional Preparation Programs.
  • Curriculum Subcommittee
    The Curriculum Subcommittee, a subcommittee of the Curriculum Policies Committee (CPC), is responsible for reviewing and making recommendations regarding all modifications to existing courses/programs and all proposals for new courses/programs.
  • Exceptional Assigned Time Committee
    The Exceptional Assigned Time Committee, is a subcommittee of the Faculty Policies Committee.  The Committee adminsters the Assigned Time for Exceptonal Levels of Service to Students Awards and recommends procedures relating to the Awards to the Faculty Policies Committee.
  • Faculty Endowment for Student Scholarship Committee (FESS)
    The Faculty Endowment for Student Scholarship Committee, a subcommittee of the Academic Policies Committee (APC), reviews applications for, and selects the recipients of the Faculty Endowment for Student Scholarships Awards. The Committee is also responsible for recommending policies and, procedures on the Student Scholarship Fund, advising on fund-raising, and evaluating proposals for funding (including the annual disbursement of earnings from the fund).
  • General Education Course Review Subcommittee (GECRS)
    The General Education Course Review Subcommittee, a subcommittee of the General Education Policies/Graduation Requirements Committee (GE/GRPC), is responsible for reviewing and recommending courses for inclusion in the General Education Program.  It further develops definitions and evaluation standards pertaining to area criteria and undertakes periodic reviews (every 2 years) of area and sub-area criteria, definitions, and standards as required by current University policy.
  • Livingston Annual Faculty Lecture Committee
    The Livingston Annual Faculty Lecture Committee, a subcommittee of the Faculty Policies Committee (FPC), is responsible for the administration of the John C. Livingston Annual Faculty Lecture Award.
  • Pedagogy Enhancement Awards Subcommittee (PEAS)
    The Pedagogy Enhancement Awards Subcommittee, a subcommittee of the Faculty Policies Committee (FPC), administers the Pedagogy Enhancement Awards and recommends policies and procedures relating to the Pedagogy Enhancement Awards to the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) and the Faculty Policies Committee.
  • Readmission Subcommittee
    The Readmission Subcommittee, a subcommittee of the Academic Policies Committee (APC), is responsible for the evaluation of appeals for readmission from dismissed students after a mandatory interruption in enrollment.
  • Research and Creative Activity Awards Subcommittee (RCA)
    The Research and Creative Activity Awards Subcommittee, a subcommittee of the Faculty Policies Committee (FPC), administers the Research and Creative Activity Awards program, the University Award for Research, Scholarship, and Creative Activity for Early-Career Faculty (formerly the University Award for Research and Creative Activity), and the University Award for Research, Scholarship, and Creative Activity for Senior Faculty (formerly the Outstanding Scholarly Achievement Award).
  • Student Retention and Graduation Subcommittee (SRGS)
    The Student Retention and Graduation Subcommittee, a subcommittee of the Academic Policies Committee (APC), is responsible for recommending policy on academic support, with a focus on assisting with student retention and graduation.
  • Visiting Scholars Subcommittee
    The Visiting Scholars Subcommittee, a subcommittee of the Faculty Policies Committee (FPC), administers the Visiting Scholars Program and recommends policies and procedures relating to the Visiting Scholars Program. 
  • Wang Family Excellence Award Subcommittee
    The Wang Family Excellence Award Subcommittee, a subcommittee of the Faculty Policies Committee (FPC), is responsible for the administration of the Wang Family Excellence Award.
  • Writing and Reading Subcommittee
    The Writing and Reading Subcommittee, a subcommittee of the General Education/Graduation Requirement Policies Committee (GE/GRPC), is charged with reviewing and, making recommendations to CPC related to, and advising departments, programs, Academic Affairs, and the Center for Teaching and Learning on, matters related to the Writing and Reading in the Majors policy. It also adjudicates GWAR appeals.
