How I Work With Students

I tend to meet students where their needs are and tailor the therapy process to each individual student who I am working with. Typically, I will utilize evidence based cognitive behavior therapy techniques while also using a narrative approach to therapy. I always consider the clients who I work with the experts on their own lives and try to provide them with skills that they can incorporate in their lives outside of therapy. By doing so, students are often able to gain their own insight into their personal struggles and their lives and gain strength and confidence within themselves.

Professional Interests

A few of my professional interests include, working with trauma, anxiety, men’s issues, and suicide prevention. I am affiliated with the APA Division 51 (Society for the Psychological Study of Men and Masculinity), AFSP (American Foundation for Suicide Prevention), and SVPA (Sacramento Valley Psychological Association).

Personal Interests

I enjoy being outside as much as possible and being physically active. During the winter months I love snowboarding in Tahoe and when it warms up I try to spend time mountain biking, hiking, kayaking, and surfing. In my free time I socialize with friends and family, and attend live music and events. My fiancé and I also have four adorable and crazy cats.
