Club Days

For the first two weeks of every semester, Sacramento State hosts Club Days. Many of our over 300 student organizations set up tables or booths in the Library and Main Quads, the South Green Lawn in front of the WELL, and along the Shasta Hall walkway toward the Residence Halls to promote their semester activities and membership opportunities.

Fall 2018 Booth Locations

For club leaders, we take reservations for each semester at the Booth Selection Lottery, two weeks before the semester starts. Booth location reservations are by lottery and are only taken in person. All of the details and expectations for both Booth Lottery and Club Days are in the Student Organization Handbook.

The Spring 2019 Booth Lottery date will be announced later in Fall

Individuals needing reasonable accommodations for disability access are to contact SO&L at 916-278-6595, at least 5 business days before the event.

Club Registration and Renewal

Students at a Nuts and Bolts WorkshipEach Fall all student clubs and organizations must renew their recognition at Sac State. Part of that renewal requires that Presidents, Treasurers, and other Officers must attend a Nuts and Bolts workshop between August 25-September 30th. If they do not, recognition of their organization will not be given/renewed. The process for both new or returning clubs to gain and maintain recognition is outlined in the Student Organization Handbook.

Community Service Projects

people doing volunteer workEvery Fall semester, SO&L hosts a service project event to provide an opportunity for our Hornet Family to outreach and improve a part of our local community. As a part of our partnership with the United Way Day of Caring, Sac State faculty, staff, students, and friends volunteer at various sites in Sacramento.

This Spring 2018, we will be a partnering sponsor of the Community Engagement Center's "Harvest Sac State". The Sac State community will go out into Sacramento and harvest fruit trees for the ASI Food Pantry and the Sacramento Food Bank. Harvest Sac State will take place on Saturday, February 24th from 9:00am-1:00pm. Registration will be posted in January.

Additional service opportunities can be found on the Leadership Initiative calendar.

placeholderEach September students, faculty, alumni, and staff join the Herky and our President in the Library Quad to take the annual "Swarm Day" campus photo. The photo, updated every year, is used in University publications and on the website as the “face of the campus” and reflects the spirit of the University.

The 2018 Swarm Day photo will be Thursday, August 30th at 11:45am.
