Reinstatement

Fall 2022 Reinstatement after Disqualification

Students disqualified before Spring 2021 can reapply for our Fall 2022 semester. The Fall 2022 Reinstatement after Disqualification filling period will be from October 1 through December 15, 2021.

Eligibility requirements:

  • Successful completion (C- or better) of Admission requirements: A1-Oral Communication; A2-Written Communication; A3-Critical Thinking; and B4-Quantitative Reasoning (math)
  • Completion of all possible lower-division coursework (General Education and major prerequisites)
  • 60 transferable units (junior standing)
  • Written Communication and Quantitative Reasoning must be completed by the end of Spring 2022; however, Oral Communication, Critical Thinking, and the 60 transferable units can be completed by the end of Summer 2022
  • Apply to a non-impacted major

Spring 2023 Readmission after Dismissal

Students who have been dismissed can petition for Spring 2023 “Readmission after Dismissal” from August 1 to August 31, 2022. There are two steps in the dismissal petitioning process:

  1. Submit a Spring 2023 admission application via the Cal State Website
  2. Submit a “Readmission after Dismissal” petition (petitions will be available on this website beginning August 1, 2022)

Eligibility requirements:

  • Successful completion (C- or better) of General Education Areas A1-Oral Communication; A2-Written Communication; A3-Critical Thinking; and B4-Quantitative Reasoning (math)
  • Completion of all possible lower-division coursework (General Education and major prerequisites
  • 60 units (junior standing)
  • Written Communication and Quantitative Reasoning must be completed by the end of Summer 2022; however, Oral Communication, Critical Thinking, and the 60 transferable units can be completed by the end of Fall 2022
  • Apply to a non-impacted major

The deadline to submit both the petition and the application for admission is August 31, 2023

Readmission after Dismissal

There is only one type of petition for reinstatement: “Readmission after Dismissal.” The petitioning process requires that students submit a written statement addressing the following:

  1. problems that lead to dismissal
  2. describe specific changes made to resolve these problems
  3. reason for choosing intended major

*** Readmission after Dismissal is only available for Spring semesters
