Ed Brazo, Professor of acting technique and musical theatre, joined the faculty of Sacramento State Department of Theatre & Dance in 2002 after maintaining a professional career for over 25 years. Ed heads the musical theatre program and has directed Cabaret, Crazy for You, A Chorus Line, and 42nd Street

Ed has also been an annual guest director/choreographer, performer at Tulane University, University of North Texas, Granbury Opera House, Cortland Repertory Theatre and a featured musical theatre workshop artist at the Southeastern Theatre Conference. In 1995, Ed was one of five teachers chosen to tour Australia on a Rotary-sponsored “Arts In Education” teaching exchange program.

As a proud member of Actor’s Equity Association and the Society of Stage Directors and Choreographers since 1975, Ed performed on Broadway in Take Me Along and toured nationally with Angela Lansbury in Gypsy, playing over 10 different roles in three years. Sacramento credits include directing and choreographing The Music Man at Garbeau’s Dinner Theatre, A Christmas Carol at Sacramento Theatre Company and performing the role of Eugene Fodor in Crazy for You, Rudolph in Hello, Dolly!, Lewis Morris in1776, and Franz in The Sound of Music at Sacramento’s Music Circus.
