The Veterans Leadership and Mentorship program was established to serve student veterans who are a vital part of the Sac State campus. The Sac State community is grateful to each student veteran for bravely serving our country and returning home to pursue a higher education experience.

The VLMP offers the following opportunities:

  • to adjust to civilian and academic life
  • to achieve academic success
  • to gain knowledge about university resources
  • to foster  personal and professional networks
  • to learn leadership, event planning, and mentoring skills

MaleWho should enroll and what is the program?

  • Currently enrolled Sacramento State veteran students are invited to enroll, especially those currently entering the university.
  • The program is a two-semester commitment to assist student veterans in developing leadership skills in preparation for the transition to the civilian workforce post-graduation.
  • The program consists of 3 units of credit that can be used to fulfill the upper division writing intensive course requirement that is required of all Sac State students.
