Perception Webform Assignment Week #3
Imagine the following scenario. An Asian woman, about 40 years old, who happens to be the mayor of a medium sized city in Oregon, is vacationing in Florida. She gets a sudden case of severe stomach cramps and breaks out in a rash that covers her body. Her husband (who is Caucasian) takes her to the emergency room of a hospital where she is diagnosed by the doctor on call. Two weeks later, when back home in Oregon, she still has the rash and occasional stomach pains. She goes to her doctor and learns that the first doctor misdiagnosed her condition.
The woman suspects that the original misdiagnosis was a result of a communication problem, specifically a perception problem between the doctor, her husband and herself.
A "D" response to this assignment does not follow the directions for all three steps. The dialogue does not clearly illustrate all three problems and the explanation in #3 is vague. The writing may be problematic.
A "C" response follows the directions, but the illustration in the dialogue is weak in illustrating the 3 problems and/or the explanation in #3 is vague. The writing may be somewhat problematic.
A "B" response follows the directions; provides a more illustrative dialogue, but still isn't precise in demonstrating all three problems; and provides reasonably clear explanations in #3. The writing isn't perfect, but is pretty good.
An "A" response follows the directions; provides a clever and clearly illustrative dialogue which precisely illustrates the problems; and provides crystal clear explanations in #3 which are precisely written.
