The purpose of the homework assignment is to encourage further practice of the theoretical topics covered in our book. The image below shows you the 3 major components of SAP's Business Intelligence architecture: Sources, Capabilities, and Access (think of it as Input, Process, Output). Each homework assignment focuses on one of these components. Assignment 1 focuses on the development of a Data Warehouse. Assignment 2 focuses on gathering business intelligence (including data mining), and Assignment 3 focuses on the presentation layer with Dashboards and reports.

Extra Credit [top]

The purpose of the extra credit opportunity is:

  1. Have Fun!

  2. Learn how to use SAP's Crystal Dashboard software

  3. Provide advice to CBA on how to best leverage your learning styles to improve your learning

Here is what you have to do:

  1. On Wednesday, April 17, you will take the Myers-Briggs test. After the test, you will discuss, with your team, the best way to present your findings using Crystal Dashboard. On that date, you must provide the initial design layout of your dashboard, in print.

  2. On Wednesday, May 1st, you will use the MBTI results to build your dashboard. If you have not completed your dashboard, in class, you could finalize your dashboard later.

This Extra Credit is worth 10 points.
