About Employee & Labor Relations

Maintaining healthy employee relations is central to overall organizational performance and health. Simply put: good employee relationship management translates into increased employee well-being (and performance). And, since employees are the engine of any organization, we all should work towards employer-employee and cross-employee relations that are well-maintained. ELR supports the University’s efforts in fostering positive professional involvement that contributes to satisfactory productivity, motivation and morale. We are also committed to promoting effective, fair, and professional relationships between the University and staff employee groups.

ELR implements labor agreements, and assists with workplace matters, including: workplace investigations, progressive performance management, trainings, corrective action, and workplace environment concerns. ELR also provides other services including but not limited to: interpretation of policies, procedures, and collective bargaining agreements; management of the performance evaluation process; counseling, mediation, and conflict management.

Employees experiencing difficulty in their work environment are encouraged to contact their designated ELR contact for further assistance and guidance.
