Campus Resources

Sacramento State offers a range of campus-based resources designed to support pregnant and parenting students throughout their academic journey.

  • Family Study Room (University Library):
    A family-friendly study space located on the 2nd floor of the Library (Room 2003) designed for student parents and guardians who need to study with their children. The room includes study tables, children’s furniture and books, outlets for devices, and a hand-washing station. Available first-come, first-served for up to 4 hours (OneCard required); childcare is not provided, and parents must supervise their children at all times.
  • Child Care Grant (CCAMPIS):
    Childcare cost assistance for Pell-eligible Sac State Students.
  • Sac State Basic Needs Initiative:
    Sacramento State helps students get food and emergency funds. Learn more about our Basic Needs Initiative, including the -
  • ASI Children's Center:
    On campus child care programming that works to support Sac State students with Children.
  • CalWORKs Signatures:
    For questions about CalWORKs or to request required signatures, contact Parents & Families at CalWORKs-Verify@csus.edu. We can provide monthly attendance signatures (submitted electronically with proper PDF uploads).
    Note: Sacramento State does not have county workers on-site. For case-specific help, please contact your county office through the California Department of Social Services or CalWORKs website.

Community Resources

We partner with trusted community organizations to help student-parents access essential support beyond campus. These resources can assist with housing, childcare, emergency care, food access, and basic needs.

  • 211 Sacramento - Connects families to local services, including affordable housing, food, healthcare, and public assistance programs.
  • Chicks in Crisis (Elk Grove) - Provides free diapers, formula, children’s clothing, maternity clothing, car seats, and children’s furniture. The Parents & Families Program can verify your enrollment for services.
  • Child Action - Helps Sacramento County residents find and pay for childcare. This subsidy can be combined with the (CCAMPIS) grant. Call (916) 361-0511 to get started.
  • June Care - Offers affordable, short-term babysitting options in your neighborhood and allows you to sign up as a caregiver.
  • Sacramento Crisis Nursery - Provides temporary emergency childcare for children ages newborn to 5 years old. Recommend registering for eligibility in advance.
  • WIC (Women, Infants, and Children)- Offers nutrition support and food assistance for eligible pregnant students and families.

These community partners help ensure student-parents have access to the practical support needed to remain enrolled and focused on their academic goals.
