Instructor-led Classes and Activities

The Sacramento State Employee Wellness Program is a series of instructor-led classes and self-guided activities offered to all Sac State employees, including emeritus, free of cost. Learning & Development administers this program, including the registration, coordination of instructors, and space reservation.

Breathing Exercises for Mask Wearers

Do you feel lethargic or stressed from wearing a mask during the day? Learn several breath work practices that can increase the oxygen levels in your body while you are wearing a mask at work or around town, including diaphragm breaths, square breathing techniques, breaths targeting the nervous system, and elongated breath work.

De-Stress: Meditation & Movement for Stress Management

Stress is toxic. This course introduces a series of guided meditation and movement exercises that allow your body and mind to relax, refocus, and de-stress. Led by multiple instructors, and includes self-care techniques from Qi Gong, massage, acupressure, and yoga.

Better Wrist & Elbow Health

Join Dr. Baxter Bell as he shares information, best practices, and simple exercises for employees who experience long-term mouse and keyboard use.

Yoga (Asanas and Stretching)

Live, instructor-led wellness class to support the body both mentally and physically. Employees will be guided through a gentle half-hour of yoga movements and asana postures, breathing exercises, and relaxation techniques. Participants of all yoga levels are welcome to join our campus yoga community. Feel free to come to class as your schedule allows, and drop-ins are always welcome! Instructor Jennifer Park, DPT, is a Pediatric Physical Therapist, faculty member in Kinesiology, and long-time yoga teacher.

Taught Tuesdays and Thursdays in May and June, 12:15 - 12:45 PM.

Open Swim

The WELL’s lifeguards provide safety for open lap swim for all employees at the Yosemite Hall campus pool. Reservations are required but there is no charge to use the pool.
