About Student Research Center

Welcome to the Student Research Center!

Student research and creative activity is a "high-impact practice" for undergraduates. For a graduate student, it is often a critical and essential part of their program. It offers a student a chance to deeply explore a topic of interest, develop new skills, build confidence in their abilities, develop future interests, network with others with similar interests, and ignite passion for learning and exploring.

The Student Research Center (SRC), an entity of Academic Affairs and the Office of Research, Innovation and Economic Development (ORIED), exists to broaden opportunities for students to collaborate with faculty on authentic research, scholarship, and creative activities. We focus on both undergraduate and graduate student research, deliver professionalization workshops and offer opportunities for research dissemination.

How Can You Participate?

Fall Poster Forum

Each fall semester, students have the chance to share their research and scholarly and creative activity via poster.

Spring Research and Creative Activity Symposium

In the Spring Research and Creative Activity Symposium, students disseminate their research in a 10 minute oral presentation in front of a faculty panel. Awardees from the symposium are selected and recognized in an award ceremony. Many awardees from this event are also selected to compete in the Annual CSU-Wide Student Research Symposium.

Create, Make, and Share Faire

This event is open to all Sacramento State students, staff, and faculty. It is a chance to showcase your creative side and share your creation with the campus community.
