Julian Cunningham is a vocalist, performer, educator, conductor, clinician, and vocal coach based in Northern California. He currently serves as a professor of music at American River College, where he teaches jazz voice, jazz theory, vocal performance, and ensemble courses. He also recently joined the music faculty at California State University, Sacramento, continuing his work mentoring and developing the next generation of singers and musicians in the region.

As a performer, Julian has built a versatile career spanning jazz, gospel, soul, pop, and contemporary music. He is an international touring singer whose performance experience includes professional vocal work, worship leadership, studio recording, and appearances across a wide range of concert, commercial, and educational settings. Known for his expressive tone, dynamic stage presence, and deep musicality, Julian brings both artistry and authenticity to every performance.

Julian is also a DownBeat Award-winning vocalist whose work as a clinician and vocal coach has allowed him to support singers of varying ages and experience levels. He is passionate about community, mentorship, and the power of music to bring people together, helping students develop healthy technique, stylistic versatility, improvisational confidence, and meaningful musical expression.
