Research Projects/Interests

My main research interests include host-microbiota interactions that define and limit the composition and abundance of members of the microbiota. My current projects investigate 1) nitrate respiration in anoxic or hypoxic environments using the bacteria Klebsiella oxytoca and 2) nectar inhabiting microbes from Aquilegia spp.
