Please answer ALL these short essays (A and B) for the essay part of your exam.

 

Part 1: 20 points. The formation of Little Manila in Stockton

(A) Explain how the Filipino community in Stockton, California, got started. Why did Filipinos migration from the Philippines to form communities in Stockton? (B) Explain the social and economic context for the formation of Little Manila. *In your answer, make sure you also include at least 2 QUOTES (each quote must NOT be longer than ONE line) from the Mabalon readings with the accompanying page number where you got your quote. Part 2: 20 points.  The movement to save Little Manila

(C) Explain why Dillon Delvo and Dawn Mabalon got involved to save “Little Manila” in Stockton. What was the social and economic context of the destruction of Little Manila? (D) What is the significance of the building of the Filipino Center?
