The first Hom/Tom family (of Kun Foo and Lee Shee) reunion was held on October 8, 1988, to celebrate the 80th birthday of Eva (Gim) Low(fourth daughter of Hom Kun Foo and Lee Shee). After the reunion, representatives from each of the family branches under Kun Foo met to maintain the momentum to continue this event. However, due to everyone's schedule, priorities and other issues, this effort ceased.
On June 2003, the group got together in Marysville to revive the reunion effort. A date of Spring of 2004 was initially established for the reunion by subsequently dropped due to conflicting schedules and inadequate preparation time for the event.
It was a difficult task at best to organize this effort due to everyone's schedules and distances of the members. The group felt that to maintain a legacy of the Hom/Tom family for future generations, this event had to occur with this group. Many of the members of this group were from the third generation which had the last direct link to Marysville. If a reunion did not materialize with this group, it would not probably never happen.
The meeting of November 11, 2004, was the critical meeting for the group. It fixed the date of the Second Hom/Tom Family Reunion and the place for the reunion.
Our Third Hom/Tom Family Reunion is on May 17, 2008, at Marysville, California.
