Mt Rainier Problem.

Mt Rainier is a large stratovolcano that sits above Tacoma and Seattle. Your geologic consulting group has been hired to do a complete assessment of the risk posed by the volcano.

A. Hazards: Systematically compare Mt. Rainier with all the potential hazards of stratovolcanoes. Identify the likelihood and extent of each hazard. For each:

B. Mitigation: How can the likelihood of death, injury and property damage due to volcanic activity at Rainier be reduced? Your group must produce specific recommendations. Actions you might consider include: public education, warning systems, zoning that restricts development in certain areas, buying out properties in particularly hazardous areas.
