The changing of the leaves. The chilling of the air. And Sacramento State alumni recognized for their impactful work in the community.

Hornet alums landing on the Sacramento Business Journal’s “40 Under 40” list is a fall tradition, and this year is no different. Nine Sac State graduates were honored on the list, which recognizes elite young professionals making positive contributions to their communities.

Honorees are selected based on their professional achievements, vision, and leadership qualities, among other considerations.

Their inclusion, in addition to the dozens of alumni who have been named to previous years’ lists, is a continuing sign of Sacramento State’s positive impact on the Sacramento region and beyond through the inspiring work of its graduates.

This year’s Hornet honorees are:

  • Lilia Chavez '13 (Criminal Justice), director of housing and client prosperity, WEAVE
  • Rosemarie Dauz '13 (Health Science), community outreach program manager, Golden 1 Credit Union
  • Amanda Frazier Kellow '10 (Business Administration), vice president and controller, LDK Ventures
  • Eric Johnson '08 (Accounting), division practice manager of pain management, UC Davis Health
  • Anthony Ogbeide '12 (Electrical and Electronic Engineering), business performance analyst, PG&E
  • Brent Trayce Sands '10 (Communication Studies), owner, Impound Comics
  • Tessa Turner '10 (Criminal Justice), vice president of operations, Luxer One
  • Erin Wilson Uribe '06 (Communication Studies), head of demand generation, Enel
  • Michael Valle, MA '11 (Government), chief information officer and deputy director of information services, California Department of Health Care Access and Information

They will be honored at an awards gala on Thursday, Nov. 10. For more information about these alums, as well as the full list of honorees, visit the Business Journal’s website.
