Specifically, the Education Code permits any student to take a test or examination, without penalty, at a time when that activitiy would not violate the student's religious creed. The campus policy complies with the Calforinia Education Code 89320 and provides mechanisms for instructors to accommodate students' planned absence for religious observances with respect to test, examinations, graded assignements, deadlines or class participation. The policy also provides students with dealines to notify instructors about planned absence(s) for religious observances.
