ABA AWARDS & RECOGNITION

ABA's New Combined Awards Program Defined

ABA has a celebrated history of recognizing its employees. In 2005, ABA began the annual Staff Peer and Leadership awards programs. These programs, occurring during the spring and winter months, respectively, became the central way for ABA to recognize its employees for outstanding service to their customers, colleagues, and campus community.

They say the only constant is change, and with that, the ABA Recognition Program is undergoing some changes as well. No longer will ABA have an awards program taking place during both spring and winter. Instead, elements of each program, Staff Peer and Leadership, will be rolled into one central program, taking place during the spring months, and ending with the winners being announced at the annual Spring Social.

Many of the most important aspects of each program will remain intact. There will remain a Staff Peer award category, allowing ABA employees to recognize and nominate their colleagues. As well, there will remain Leadership Peer, Valued Staff, and Team awards, nominated by managers.

These changes allow for better process workflow for the offices involved in the logistics of running the awards programs. In addition, some categories will see changes in the total number of winners, to help make receiving an award more meaningful.

We encourage everyone to learn more about the revised awards programs on our website: http://csus.edu/aba/ABA-About/ABA-recognition-program/index.html. With this being our first year of the new format, we will also be open to suggestions for the future. Send your suggestions to Andrew Stiffler, stiffler@csus.edu.
